I have personally made a visual survey at Fountain Square in down town Cincinnati, Ohio with the help of my fiancé.

We viewed 25 smokers in a 1 hour period. These smokers seemed to be having their casual cigarette breaks among co-workers and 18 people lit up their 3rd cigarette in a 15 minute period before going back inside and they only took a couple last second puffs and snuffed it out in the ashtray.
